Level 6 NVQ Certificate in BSL

Qualification aim
Successful completion of this qualification can be used as evidence of the language skills needed in order to be able to operate at a professionally proficient level in the target language. It is useful for those who work professionally with Deaf people (for example teachers and lecturers in BSL, social workers, teachers of the Deaf, trainee interpreters, voluntary workers, workers within Deaf organisations, schools, etc) or those who aspire to work in these contexts.

Unit structure
This qualification is divided into two units, both of which can be achieved separately.
To achieve the full Level 6 NVQ Certificate in British Sign Language, candidates are required to achieve both units BSL601 & BSL602

Course Length up to 40 weeks, dependent on student abilities and experience


EnrolmentApplication form emailed to new student, upon completion and payment of deposit student will attend Initial Assessment of Skills & Knowledge then induction, then the course commences. Students can pay for the course in full or opt for instalments, if instalments are chosen then Standing Order will be set up
Requirements – Copy certificate Level 2 & Level 3 and Computer competent, folder with dividers, pen, paper and most importantly a storage device – USB, SD, External Hard drive AND portable camcorder & stand

If you have not studied previous courses with BSL Ladder then an initial assessment of skills will be required (interview)
